The long-standing divorce drama between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie seems to be coming to a close. According to The Daily Mail, Brad Pitt has decided to withdraw his request for joint custody of their children. A source shared with the publication that the couple, who have been locked in a custody battle since 2016, are now in talks and edging closer to resolving the legal dispute.
According to a recent update, Brad has decided to no longer pursue joint custody of their children, as per the source. This ultimately results in Angelina keeping custody of the kids, while Brad will have visitation rights.
One major reason for this decision is the fact that some of their kids have grown up. Maddox is now 22, Pax is 20, and Zahara is 19. However, Shiloh is 17, while Knox and Vivienne are 15, so they are still considered minors. It is rumored that the older children have a strained relationship with Brad, and because they are legally adults, they are no longer bound by any custody agreements.
Zahara made headlines when she decided to publicly stop using her father’s surname, and on Father’s Day this year, Pax threw shade at Brad by accusing him of causing fear in their younger siblings.
According to a close source to Brad, Angelina reportedly wants to drag out the divorce proceedings until their children reach the age of 18. Brad is said to be responsible for the situation, with Angelina’s friends stating that all she wants is for their family to heal and be able to move forward.
