Nguyen Quang Sang, formerly known as Pax Thien, had a difficult upbringing in an orphanage. However, his life took a positive turn when he was adopted by Angelina Jolie. Despite the media’s focus on his famous parents, the now 20-year-old chose to forge his own path in the art world and didn’t rely solely on their influence.
According to a report by Page Six on January 17, Pax Thien, who was adopted by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt during their trip to Vietnam, has recently started working in the field of arts. Although he did not follow in his parents’ footsteps in acting, the 18-year-old has decided to pursue a career in art games.
As per reports, Pax Thien employs a creative approach that involves using mixed media to produce his artwork. This technique incorporates multiple materials and mediums to create visually-stunning pieces. Additionally, he also uses digital media to further enhance his artistic output. Interestingly, Pax Thien works incognito, operating under the pseudonym Embtto to distance himself from the fame of his well-known parents. Having been adopted by a world-renowned celebrity and renamed Pax Thien from Nguyen Quang Sang, his life has undergone a significant transformation.
Back in 2007, the famous Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took a charitable trip to Vietnam. During their visit to an orphanage, they encountered a shy little boy who caught Jolie’s attention. Amidst all the other cheerful children, he was the only one hiding in a corner. Jolie felt drawn to him and decided to initiate adoption procedures to bring him to America for a better life. This decision not only changed the boy’s life but also impacted Jolie’s life immensely.
During her interview with Vogue, Angelina Jolie revealed that she had no plans of adopting Pax Thien at first due to her first son being Cambodian. However, she now considers herself fortunate to have her two oldest sons, Maddox and Pax Thien, always by her side as they are her driving force to keep on living. Jolie is grateful to be the mother of both Maddox, Pax Thien, and Zahara.
In contrast to their father Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie seems to have a stronger bond with the two sons she adopted. TMZ reports that the actor from Fight Club hardly spends time with his non-biological children. It’s been said that the decision to adopt was mostly made by Jolie and Pitt is more attached to his three biological kids. The divorce papers revealed that Jolie accused Pitt of being abusive towards Maddox during a flight.
Following her split with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie’s son, Pax Thien, has been living with her. He is often seen accompanying his mother on shopping trips and, as per reports from Page Six, has been fulfilling the role of breadwinner for the family since his brother Maddox went overseas to pursue his education. Pax has been taking care of his siblings in his mother’s absence.
Pax Thien, Angelina Jolie’s son who was once seen always staying close to his mother as a child, is now a grown young man and appears to be more mature. Whenever Angelina Jolie goes out with her son, who was born in Vietnam, she doesn’t feel the need to have a bodyguard accompany them.
Pax Thien, unlike his siblings, is a reserved individual who shies away from giving interviews. As per reports by Us Weekly, he prefers not to depend on his mother. Post his high school graduation, Pax Thien received boxing lessons from his mother. Jolie encouraged her children to learn Vietnamese to stay connected with their roots and culture, and Pax Thien followed suit. Additionally, he also received DJing classes from Jolie’s friend.
Starting as a little one cradled in his mom’s arms, Pax Thien has grown into a helpful assistant to his superstar mother. Recently, in June of 2022, Pax Thien accompanied Jolie on a trip to Italy to assist with the production of her latest film. While some celebrity children bask in the limelight, Pax Thien prefers to stay behind the scenes and seldom appears at glitzy events.
Despite the circumstances, the young Vietnamese lad consistently displays affection towards his mother whenever they step out. The media’s portrayal of Pax Thien is usually captured by intrusive paparazzi.
Angelina Jolie recently revealed in an interview with People that her two sons, Maddox and Pax Thien, were hired as assistant directors for her latest film. This isn’t the first time that Pax has supported his mother on a film set, having previously worked with her on First They Killed My Father. During an appearance on Woman’s Hour, Jolie also shared that Pax has a keen interest in music and movies, and enjoys working as a DJ.
